We have a long way to go !!!

This team can be great. I beleive this team wants to be great. I think this team will do what it takes to be great. We just have to keep chipping away at things until we have them engrained.

In the Trunk or Treat game Saturday against the Rockers, we had some positives. Holly pitched well enough to win. She shut down a good hitting team. Malory was her usual vacuum cleaner self at ss. Generally though , we have to do more of the little things. Hustle on and off the field. This keeps the adrnaline up. Talk to each other between pitches and especially between batters. Sprint to the ball, the base, the backup. Keep your head up at all times. Never, ever walk off a base, or back to a base and never, ever, take your ball off the ball, the runner, or whatever. these things are so important!!

Once we play our December tournament we will reconstruct hitting. Several key changes will be made . However, if everyone will develop the mind set of hitting the top of the ball down we will make a lot of improvement even before December. Our batters are also too stiff and still, at the plate. Staying loose and in rythem really helps. Keep your body back and throw the bat at the ball girl!! We have ton to learn about hitting and it will take us until late June or July to get in the reps on a day to bases. At that point in time we should become more explosive. If we are lucky and work when we can, we may make it there before summer.
